Estimating Regionalized Hydrological Impacts of Climate Change Over Europe by Performance-Based Weighting of CORDEX Projections

چکیده
Ensemble projections of future changes in discharge over Europe show large variation. Several methods for performance-based weighting exist that have the potential to increase robustness change signal. Here we use an ensemble three hydrological models forced with climate datasets from Coordinated Downscaling Experiment - European Domain (EURO-CORDEX). The experiment is set-up nine river basins spread hold different and catchment characteristics. We evaluate consistency apply two approaches; Climate model Weighting by Independence Performance (ClimWIP) focuses on meteorological variables Reliability Averaging (REA) our study applied statistics per basin. For a strong signal, Southern Northern Europe, set large. rivers Central differences between become more pronounced. Both approaches assign high weights single General Circulation Models (GCMs). ClimWIP method results mean weighted differ only slightly non-weighted mean. REA influences more, but highly vary basin see obtained through past good performance can provide deviating future. It not apparent GCM signal dominates overall i.e., there no intra consistency. However, both favored same GCM.

Hydrological Impacts of Climate Change
The increasing rate of the global surface temperature will have a significant impact on local hydrological regimes and water resources, which leads to the assessment of the climate change impacts. Main parameters that are closely related to the climate change are temperature and precipitation. Therefore, there is a growing need for an integrated analysis that can quantify the impacts of climate...
متن کاملClimate change impacts in Europe
The PESETA research project integrates a set of high-resolution climate change projections and physicalmodels into an economic modelling framework to quantify the impacts of climate change on vulnerableaspects of Europe. Four market impact categories are considered (agriculture, river floods, coastal systems, and tourism) and one non-market category (human health). Considering the ma...
متن کاملEvaluation of Climate Change Impacts on Hydrological Characteristics of Watershed (Case study: Aji- Chai Watershed)
Studying climate change impact on hydrological variables such as runoff has attracted more attention over recent years mainly due to the imposed imbalance in climate system by greenhouse gas emission. Hence, initially in this research, the trend and abrupt changes of hydro – climatic variables were studied using data mining approaches in 18 stations over 40 years (1972-2011) in Aji-Chai waters...
متن کاملAppropriate Hydrological Modelling of Climate Change Impacts on River Flooding
How good should a river basin model be to assess the impact of climate change on river flooding for a specific geographical area? The determination of such an appropriate model should reveal which physical processes should be incorporated and which data and mathematical process descriptions should be used at which spatial and temporal scales. A procedure for determining an appropriate model has...
متن کاملAssessing Hydrological Impacts of Climate Change: Modeling Techniques and Challenges
Climate Change refers to any systematic change in the long-term statistics of climate elements (such as temperature, pressure, or winds) sustained over several decades or longer time periods. General Circulation Models (GCMs) are tools designed to simulate time series of climate variables globally, accounting for effects of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and resulting global climate change....
